Tesla Ignored the Playbook

Waymo has 3,000 vehicles. Zoox has about 100. Tesla has roughly 580 discovered vehicles operating across its markets. By every traditional metric — fleet size, sensor redundancy, years of commercial operation — Tesla should be getting crushed in the autonomous vehicle race.
